About the Christian Boxing Academy
To teach and encourage the youth of Jersey City the importance of personal self-control and peaceful resolution through the disciplines of Boxing and teach the importance of academics and sportsmanship.
The founder of the Christian Boxing Academy is Lieutenant Cristino Felix of the Jersey City Police Department. Cristino has been a police officer for 29 years and currently works in the North District as the Executive Officer. Cristino's most recent assignments had been the Night Detective Commander for 7 years citywide and West District patrol sergeant for 3 years. Cristino understands the need for immediate ramifications in order to control and eradicate the violence amongst the city's youth. The loss of young lives due to gun violence has compelled Cristino to begin his own youth boxing outreach program, The Christian Boxing Academy. Cristino was an amateur boxer under the tutelage of Jose Cruz (JCFD Ret. Battalion Chief). During his many years under Jose Cruz, he was taught the required disciplines needed in boxing and his personal life. Many of these disciplines helped prevent Cristino from being a statistic of youth violence himself.
